Chewing the Cud on Cow Patti’s

at The Ramada Hotel, February 2011

On February 20th, Cow Patti and the Ramada closed “My Darling Judith” to a sold out crowd during their final benefit show for Glengarry Memorial Hospital Foundation. The three week run hosted 21 shows that saw our audiences gather from as far away as Montreal, Toronto and Ottawa. Our local community, as always, played a significant role in this success by helping Cow Patti welcome our audiences with open arms. Whether by putting up a poster, reviews from our newspapers, sponsorship from individuals and businesses, volunteers promoting our benefit shows, local high school teachers bringing their students to see some Canadians theatre or simply standing with the crowd as the room stood to its feet during the curtain call. This is not a testimony to how wonderful The Cow Patti Theatre Company and The Ramada Hotel and Conference Center are; it’s a statement expanding on what a successful, compassionate community we have.

This year Cow Patti and The Ramada Hotel hosted six benefits with their production of “My Darling Judith”: Water for Life, The Ontario Seniors Games, Run for a Cure, Cornwall and Area Community Fundraiser, The Syd Ford Foundation and Glengarry Memorial Foundation. We met new people and obtained new experiences with our benefits. Six young girls from Algonquin College raised money for fellow students for the Syd Ford Foundation, Roxanne and the gang from Glengarry Hospital had a good shot of medicine…”laughter” for the 6th year in a row!! Monique Dawkes, a very special “cow” at Cow Patti {and that’s coming from the Head Cow] worked so hard for the 6th year in a row, not just selling tickets but often hand delivering them to customers- all for her love for theatre and raising money for her causes ,this year for The Ontario Seniors Games District # 8. Then there were the new kids on the block: Water for Life and CIBC Run for a cure. Both caught the theatre bug as they enjoyed their success through professional theatre.

In all we raised a whopping $7452.73 which now brings our grand total to $104,452.00!!!!!

What a pleasure to be able to do this for our community and we look forward to many more years of laughter and goodness.

Regards
