Happy New Year Everyone from the Herd at Cow Patti. Our wish to all of you is that 2019 brings you and all your loved ones much peace, joy and above all, oodles of laughter!
The Odd Couple closed on December 16, 2018 and we are thrilled to announce that it broke all house records. We had an amazing amount of new people join us and, of course, we appreciated the continued support of our regulars. Though our economy is challenging, I have to say I have faith in the fact that people still want to go out and enjoy good company, delicious food and quality entertainment. Our benefit program, which raised monies and awareness for Sawyer Kiist Passion for Life Bursary, Make A Move With Jagger Foundation, Caroline Seniors, Kasota East Camp, Bentley Library Society, The Lending Cupboard and Lacombe Performing Arts Center, very worthy non-profit groups, brought in over 27 Thousand dollars!
I want to say a special thanks to our new chef at the Golf Course, Ian Simard. Ian, along with his crew in the kitchen did a stupendous job! The folks who came out to The Odd Couple, whether it was for the Prime Rib Buffet, the Brunches, Wing Nights or, new to us this season, Taco Thursday thoroughly enjoyed the food and were very impressed with his talent in the kitchen. Our Senior Brunches during The Odd Couple were a huge hit, with 5 SOLD OUT shows! A special thanks to Beltone - The Hearing Centre for joining the Herd and creating a wonderful opportunity for our seniors to enjoy live professional comedy dinner theatre.
Cow Patti would also like to welcome the new General Manager at the Lacombe Golf and Country Club, a local fella who has moved back to Lacombe with his family, Kerry Ward. We look forward to the new relationship with the Golf Course and Kerry as we move forward in our partnership, bringing Albertans professional dinner theatre at the lovely Lacombe Golf and Country Club.
Up next, a brand-new play by Canada's own Norm Foster - Halfway There. Over the past 22 seasons, Cow Patti has produced many of Norms plays, most recently, Here on the Flight Path, Ethan Claymore, The Ladies Foursome, The Foursome and The Long Weekend. Why do I continue to produce Norms works? because they are stories of everyday folk, in everyday situations that draw out the humour and heart in all of us. Halfway There, is a story of friendship in small town Nova Scotia. Vi, Rita, Mary Ellen and Janine meet everyday at Juniors Café to laugh the world's problems away. One afternoon Dr. Sean arrives from the city and he stirs up more than his coffee. What follows, is a month of lessons learned for all through hilarity, tears and the bonds of unshakable friendship.
Sugar and Spice and everything nice…. with a dash of Maritime Salt! Halfway There is a feel-good theatrical experience that will keep you smiling long after you leave .
A theatre experience filled with incomparable Maritime wit and wisdom!
A warm-hearted play that is sure to delight long time Foster fans, and for those new to Foster, this would be a great place to start.
We have moved our dates this season for our second show a month later. With the Canada Winter Games in Red Deer this February and hoping for the run to take place during some milder weather, we are opening March 14 and running till April 7, 2019.
To start off the run, our opening weekend will be full of Irish Fare in celebration of St. Paddy's Day. Chef Ian will create some tasty Irish dishes which he will include in his buffets and the gals will be serving lots of Irish Coffee's and Green Beer. For those who are disappointed in not being able to compete in our Annual Valentines Reality Stage Kiss competition, not to worry, we will be having our very first Kiss the Blarney Stone Game with some amazing prizes for the bravest! Also, during our St. Paddy's Day weekend, Toronto Actor, Singer/Songwriter, Liam Collins will be serenading everyone during the dinner hour with Maritime Music and Songs!
There is something for everyone with Halfway There that will suit all pocketbooks, Senior Brunches $48, Wing Wednesdays $30, Taco Thursdays $32, AAA Prime Rib Weekends $74 and Weekend Brunches $64. Our Benefit program will host 4 Benefits for the following Groups: The Rocky Seniors, Kasota East Camp, Grama Link Africa, and St. Luke's Restoration.
A warm invite to all to join us at Halfway There March 14 till April 7, we guarantee, you'll surely be laughing for days!
